Competition: RoboCup 2009

The CAMBADA team played a very successful tournament at the RoboCup 2009 World Championship which has been held in Graz - Austria from 29 June to 5 July 2009. After having successfully played the three round robins, the CAMBADA team lost the semi-final against the Dutch team Tech United, from the Eindhoven University of Technology, by 0-2 and won the game for the third place against the Iranian team MRL, from the Qazvin Azad University, by 3-1.
The CAMBADA team was the only team that was able to beat the current European and World Champions, the German team 1. RFC Stuttgart from the University of Stuttgart, in an emotive game that ended up with a 5-2.
The CAMBADA team won 12 of the 14 games of the tournament, with a total of 71 goals for and a goal difference of 58 (the best goal average of the competition). The team also ranked first in this year Technical Challenge.
